Sadly we ate very little corn this summer. It was almost impossible to find even locally grown corn that wasn’t from genetically modified seeds. The ears we were able to buy were mostly delicious, but often small, usually expensive, and sometimes buggy. Standing in front of great looking road-side vegetable stands across New England, I want to throw caution to the wind, but articles like the ones below wave big red flags.
Cornstarch, corn meal, and corn flour are staples in Mexican food and gluten-free food, so instead of going without, take the extra time, spend the extra money to vote with your pocketbook for organic, non-GMO corn products. “The jury remains out” on the benefits of GMO’s. Be informed of the pros and cons as you make your choices.
