Annie’s been bringing colorful shopping bags to the market for years. I knew it was the right, smart, green thing to do. Even Uncle George told me how much he saves each year by supplying reusable bags. But it wasn’t until Dori gave me some as a hostess gift a couple of weeks ago that I “got” the convenience and pleasure of it.
My Baggu bags came from Rock Paper Scissors, a beautifully curated shop in Wiscasset, Maine. (A shout out to Map & Menu for profiling this excellent shop – see some of their photos below.)
Each:
- Holds 2-3 plastic grocery bags of stuff
- 15.5″ Wide / 25.5″ high / 6″ deep
- Folds into a flat 5″ by 5″ pouch Holds 50 lbs
- 100% Ripstop nylon Machine washable
Do this for yourselves, friends, family. Do this for Mother Earth!
P.S. Cities in California, including San Francisco, have banned disposable plastic bags. California’s legislature is considering a state-wide ban. What does conventional wisdom say? “As California goes, so goes….” Be ahead of the curve!
