Tuesday Tip: Reusable “Paper” Towels

Reusable "Paper Towels"

Our immediate family decided not to exchange gifts this holiday season. Stockings were filled, but there was no big shopping wrapping angst in the weeks prior to, and especially day of, Christmas. The joke amongst extended family when we thanked for what they gave was that of course “it was the best gift – it was the ONLY gift!”

One of the outstanding things we received was a roll of Anne Riggs Reusable “Paper” Towels, a beautifully and intentionally made substitute for (Bounty.) The detachable cotton towels can’t be called “quicker picker uppers”, but the few extra seconds – one- one thousand, two- one thousand…, required to snap off – snap on a reusable towel is certainly worth a tree. Plus the consideration we give the environment is consideration for ourselves. You are worth the extra time it takes to manage your roll of cotton towels. February 14th is right around the corner: buy a roll for someone you love!

Order them on-line or if you live in the Greater Portland area, some up at the Portland Food Co-op.

Confession: a roll of conventional paper towels is under the sink, but has been since 12/25.
